Caitlynn Kelley, Editor

My name is Caitlynn Kelley. I am an editor, journalist, and a junior this year. I hope to write articles that are interesting, yet insightful for our community. For those in the Listen UP Staff, we must remember that it is UP TO US, not for us. :)

I joined journalism last year due to my love of reading the news and wanting to improve my writing skills. At school, I am a club officer for Jaguar Tales and a part of Intermediate Strings. Off campus, I am the President of my Girl's Political Club. I love politics, dark humor, different cultures, reading, history, learning about organized crime, and learning new things. I love the TV shows Killing Eve and Mindhunter. My favorite music genres are Classical, Jazz, Motown, Doo Wop, Yé-yé, Latin Trap, Vaporwave, and Cumbia. My MBTI sign is INFJ. I am a big fan of Martin Scorsese and his movies. I am of Irish and Indigenous Guatemalan descent. I am proud of my heritage and I want to use my privilege to help those that are in the Latinx community someday (Hispanic immigrants, Afro-Latinx, Indigenous Latinx, Muslim Latinx, LGBTQ+ Latinx, and other minorities of any group that define as Latinx). I would consider myself to be a shy person when meeting new people, but when I get to know them more I start opening up. I hope you enjoy the work from our lovely journalists, editors, and multimedia specialists. We put blood, sweat, and tears into our work!!!!

This is a drawing of a student in a FEV tutoring session. In FEV tutoring sessions, students are only allowed to communicate with their tutors through a chat box and use the whiteboard to draw out their answers. All students in the Victor Valley Union High School District have access to FEV Tutoring through their Classlink. FEV Tutoring is free for students, so they don't have to worry about any additional costs.
