Presidential Candidates

Democratic

liberalism, social equality, minority rights, organized labor rights, environmentalism, egalitarianism, voting rights.

Joe Biden 2020 presidential candidate and 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017. Joe Biden wants to get rid of capital punishment, raise the minimum wage, undo Trump’s immigration laws, expand on Obamacare (the Affordable Care Act), grant money to lower-income communities, establish universal pre-school, expand on free college, invest in Green deals, and rejoin the Paris Accord. Biden wants to return to the way things were when Obama was elected and help the working class.

Kamala Harris 2020 vice presidential candidate and junior United States senator from California since 2017. Kamala Harris supports health care, women’s rights, and stricter gun laws. She wants to make laws that will make life easier for many, increase protections to students who might not otherwise have it, allow immigrants easier access to gaining citizenship, and place systems to easier protect women. Harris is progressive and a co-sponsor of a green new deal.

 

Green

environmentalism, LGBT rights, ecosocialism, anti-war, anti-violence, social justice, gender equality, HEAVY green politics, socialism

Howie Hawkins 2020 presidential candidate, environmentalist, and co-founder of the Green Party, supporter of the Peace and Freedom Party, People’s Party, and Citizens Party. Howie Hawkins wants socialistic and environmental changes within government; he wants socialism with environmental roots to it. The emphasis to him should be on the environment since he believes we depend on it so much. Hawkins has experience in parties meant for the people, instead of the politician.

Angela Walker 2020 vice presidential candidate, socialist, and teacher. She has heavy beliefs in environmentalism, feminism, and racial equality. Growing up in the working-class, and working as a special education teacher; her morals follow under equality for all.

Peace and Freedom

Gloria La Riva 2020 presidential election candidate and socialist. Gloria La Riva is heavy on social justice, racial equality, and feminism. She has a heavy influence on socialism, demands justice with racism, and has a motive for loving all. La Riva believes heavy socialism needs to happen and capitalism needs to go for the US to ever succeed as a country. 

Sunil Freeman 2020 vice presidential election candidate, lifelong socialist and cultural worker. Sunil Freeman is a disability rights activist, as well as an activist for immigration rights. He believes everyone should have equal rights; Freeman notes the disabled community within America and finds himself speaking for them, ensuring they get the help they need.

Republican Party

low taxes, pro second amendment, laissez-faire capitalism, Judeo-Christian values, pro-military

Donald Trump: 2020 Presidential Candidate. A part of the Republican party. He is known for his strong stances on immigration, the economy, prison reforms, and opening the country back up. The primary campaign re-election promises that Trump has made are opening the country and schools back up, restoring the economy, and providing a coronavirus vaccine. Trump mainly uses Twitter to send out messages to his base. On social issues, Trump is against White supremacy, ANTIFA, and the Black Lives Matter Movement. Some of the organizations that back up Trump’s re-election campaign are The Fraternal Order of Police, The Proud Boys, and so on. 

 

Libertarian Party

emphasizes the rights of the individual, against big government, pro-choice (abortion), pro gay rights. 

Jo Jorgensen: 2020 Presidential Candidate. A part of the Libertarian party. She is known for her pro-individual stances on certain issues, including opening up the country and getting people back to work. Jorgensen believes in “voluntary cooperation” and believes that people, using their individual freedoms, should make changes in social issues rather than elites. For instance, she supports the BLM protestors, but is careful regarding the “hijackers.” With hijackers, she means those who are using the Black Lives Matter protests to riot and loot stores. Microsoft, the US Army, and the Air Force are some of the organizations that support her. 

Independent Party

pro-life, against gay marriage, conservative social values, against illegal immigration, pro second amendment. 

Kyle Kopitke: 2020 Presidential Candidate. A part of the Independent party. He has served in the military. His core belief is that the United States can’t be fixed by corrupt and greedy Democrats and Republicans. Some of the focuses in his campaign are the lack of military expenses, equipment, and upholding the Constitution, and stopping the new world order (the new world order is a conspiracy theory about a totalitarian one world government taking over). He wants to stop pollution and climate change. Kopitke promises that he will bring solutions to these problems and fix America. Stop Forced Vaccines is one of the organizations that supports his campaign.
