Have you ever wanted to perform with an amazing cast on stage in front of a live audience? Well, here’s your chance! University Prep’s drama department is holding auditions for their spring musical, ‘All Shook Up’. The play takes place in the 50s, centering around a rag-tag group of people all looking for love in the wrong places. All the while singing and dancing to Elvis’ most popular songs. Auditions take place this week, with each day focusing on a certain part of the audition. Tuesday, December the third, singing auditions will be recorded in Mr. Page’s room after school. Wednesday and Thursday this week, you’ll be learning the choreography for the dance portion of the audition. Friday you’ll be cold reading, meaning you’ll read lines of the character you want to play from a scene chosen by the directors. Next week, on Monday, you’ll perform the dance you learned this week, bringing auditions to a close. Rehearsals for the play will begin in January, with the show opening in early April. The drama department hopes to see you there!
