The Lady Jaguars volleyball team took on The Excelsior Eagles on Tuesday evening, October 1, 2019. The Lady Jags ultimately won with a score of 3 to 0.

Junior Paige Zimmerman, #13, who is leading the team with 161 kills, 81 serving aces, and 216 receptions seemed relaxed, yet focused on the game. Her mother, Summer Zimmerman commented after the game. “I think she was focused, but she’s focused on most games and is very competitive.” Zimmerman showed good team spirit as well as sportsmanship.

Coach Shawn Bush, commented: “She had six kills… lots of hits, tons… thirty-three hits.” he calculates, “Paige has always played very well, and her leadership is dominating. It motivates the team.” She also showed great tactics and moves. She would jump high in the air, and make great hits against the opposing team. Zimmerman has a specific tactic she applied where she would yell out: “Spike!” and pretend to spike the ball, but instead give it a little toss which tricked the other team and made her team score.

Zimmerman stayed in throughout the whole game, not switching out once. As the game was coming to an end, the team was striving for the win. All the girls were calm and confident, yet had their head in the game. Once the last quarter ended, the Lady Jags won the victory against The Excelsior Eagles. Her teammate, sophomore Susie Mahho, #14, stated, “She did great and amazing.” Zimmerman really showed her great ability throughout the whole game, and it was noticeable to her team and those watching.
