“Class of 2022 was so loud that they drowned my seven point surround sound!” said Mr. Petersen on his experience with his showing of  The Odyssey on October 25 from 6pm to 9:30pm.

The freshmen class was welcome to come and join Mr. Petersen for a movie night featuring the first of Mr. Petersen’s three anual movies, The Odyssey, a movie based off the epic poem by Homer. Although the freshmen managed to completely drown out Mr. Petersen’s high quality speakers, when they really shouldn’t have been able to, the Class of 2022 seemed to enjoy themselves amongst friends.

Those that arrived at the showing had a marvelous time and it showed on their faces with their reactions to characters in the movie like Hermes the Messenger God. There was the typical sight of people setting up their blankets, getting their chips, etc, but then something surprising happened. There was a group who definitely stood out from the crowd and that was the students who came prepared for the movie. This large group of friends brought fried chicken, pizza, soda, and cookies which lasted them the whole movie.

Mid way through the movie, Mr. Petersen held his first pajama contest. The top two students were Tajena Maiden and in second place, Jetrho Paulino for the pajama contest. During the contest, there were many different types of nightwear such as pajamas resembling polar bears, unicorns, dogs, and even Finn from Adventure Time.

Class of 2022 had an amazing time at their first movie night and can’t wait for the next one, To Kill a Mockingbird, which will occur when they finish the book. Hopefully they won’t go for a second time at overpowering the sounds from Mr. Petersen’s seven point surround system.
